Welcome!

I have started this wiki so that we can work together to develop rules to fly our sites by. I hope that you feel empowered to pitch in and change the pages so that the words are acceptable to the majority of club members. So far there are three main pages in addition to this one.

FAQ I have started an FAQ page which will grow as participation in this Wiki grows.

Agenda This is the things that we will talk about in the next meeting. I am sure that Walter will have a few things to add to the list. The meeting will be at 10:00 am and followed by a lunch grilled right at the meeting site.

CAMP Bylaws This is an online version of the bylaws which Walter Jordan began working on a couple of years ago. The bylaws were approved in the April 2009 meeting.

Site Guides

  • Mt Nebo This is our primary site which is a fantastic State Park. This Wiki is a not an official version of the site guide but may be modified to suggest improvements to the official site guide. Among other things, the wiki version incorrectly says that hang 2 pilots may fly Mt. Nebo. I hope that to be true some day but currently it is not. The Proposal to allow advanced NOVICE pilots to fly Mt. Nebo was rejected by CAMP in the spring 2011 meeting. See the Non-Wiki links section below for the official version of the site guide.
  • Mt Magazine This is the tallest mountain in Arkansas and it has a long ridge.
  • Petit Jean This is a beautiful place to fly but the needed north east winds are rare in Arkansas. Several pilots have had their first mountain launch from this site but it also has been too challenging for Intermediate pilots.
  • Jasper is for our beautiful site in the Grand Canyon of Arkansas located near the town of Jasper.
  • Short Mountain is located near Paris Arkansas and is sometimes flown by Novice pilots.
  • Pipeline overlooks the Piney Creek north of Dover Arkansas and faces North West. Good flights have been had from here but the road to the top is very difficult.

Non-Wiki Links

  • Mt. Nebo Site Guide Presented to the state park after the March 2011 meeting for their consideration.
  • Novice Pilot Flight Rules This is the rejected rules for advanced hang 2 pilots to fly Mt. Nebo.

Welcome to your PBwiki!
